Field Day mix 09 – The Horrors

Field Day mix 09 – The Horrors

Set to be one of the undisputed highlights of Field Day 2011, The Horrors have been supporters and fans of our festival since day dot, so it’s fitting that our latest Field Day mix, which was compiled for and premiered by our friends at FACT magazine this morning, falls into their more-than-capable hands…

Subtitled It’s Just A Rumour, The Horrors mix, lovingly created by Tom Furse, weaves from T.2‘S labyrinthine Decca obscurity ‘No More White Horses’ through rock’s darker, trippier back pages – touching on the cocaine-numb country-rock romanticism of Gene Clark, the sleazy art-glam of Roxy Music‘s ‘In Every Dream Home A Heartache’, David Essex‘s million-selling 1973 single ‘Rock On’, and classics from The Beach Boys and The Velvets – to the outlandishly grooving prog of ‘The Four Horsemen’ by the Vangelis-helmed Aphrodite’s Child via contemporary offerings from Tame Impala, Primal Scream, Connan Mockasin, Stereolab and more. In short, it’s a wondrous wacked-out trip perfectly suited to warm you up for Field Day 2011….
