Daniel Avery – Stopmakingme
Daniel Avery aka Stopmakingme is well known for his residency at London institution Fabric as well as regular appearances at nights such as Bugged Out and Durrr. Now his star is set to rise further as Erol Alkan has hand picked him to be a part of his Phantasy Sound label.
Dan’s love for Trash, Optimo, Soulwax and older references like The Paradise Garage all come through in his DJ sets where electro and techno sit alongside updated post-punk, huge disco, mutant new wave and perfect pop choruses whilst no momentum – or any dancefloor – is lost.
He also co-runs the hugely successful Kill Em All club night with the Filthy Dukes, championing new music made by live bands as much as electronic artists. It’s a place where “an amazingly exciting new live act could blow the mind of a techno kid whilst an indie band in the corner think of how quickly they could sell their guitars and buy samplers when dancing to Boy 8-Bit.”
