Following the amicable split of The Delgados in 2005, it was suggested that the spectre of the influential Hamiltonians would hang over their front woman, Emma Pollack, as she set along her own path. The chanteuse herself, however, has different ideas as to how to make the transformation from indie starlet to stand alone solo artist.

Her songs are the distantly removed cousins of her previous material; surprisingly sunny, breezy, pop-influenced gems capable of infecting whole rooms and even those most miserable of souls, with a bout of the smiles. The Skinny recently described Pollack as, "a major artist in the making," and as her debut album looms on the horizon, we are more than happy to stand by their words.

We know pundits say it all the time, but bigger things are in the making for this one; catch her at the Liquid Rooms before bigger venues beckon.
