Field Day has a dedicated village green area again for 2009. The heart of East London will be transformed into a Village Fete; Village Mentality's Village Green area will supply the masses with their fix of homemade cake and haybales, as well as lots of countrified fun and games away from sound systems and stages. Lots more to be announced. If you have a suggestion for an activity for the Village Green area please email villagementality@googlemail.com
Inspired by summer sports days and country fetes, this year's selection of activities serves to remind festival-goers of life's simpler pleasures, while also giving a knowing nod to the workings of fate and fortune in all of life's endeavours - no matter how big or small. Whether you set out to try your luck on the Tombola, or go for gold in the Sack Race, have fun, eat cake and enjoy your moment of glory but take heed and remember- as the country sayings go - "he that buys land also buys stones" and "he who sows on the highway loses his corn".....

chance, so even if you haven't played since your youth club days - or since you last served time on remand - join them for a game of round-the-table. See www.theyoi.co.uk for more info.
